بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Translation

إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ ﴿١﴾

لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ﴿٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThere is no denying that it will befall -

خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ ﴿٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAbasing (some), exalting (others);

إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّا ﴿٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallWhen the earth is shaken with a shock

وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّا ﴿٥﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd the hills are ground to powder

فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا ﴿٦﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallSo that they become a scattered dust,

وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ثَلَـٰثَةً ﴿٧﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd ye will be three kinds:

فَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ ﴿٨﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall(First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand?

وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ ﴿٩﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand?

وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ﴿١٠﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race:

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿١١﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThose are they who will be brought nigh

فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿١٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallIn gardens of delight;

ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallA multitude of those of old

وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ ﴿١٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd a few of those of later time.

عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ ﴿١٥﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallOn lined couches,

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَـٰبِلِينَ ﴿١٦﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallReclining therein face to face.

يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ ﴿١٧﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThere wait on them immortal youths

بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ ﴿١٨﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallWith bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring

لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ ﴿١٩﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallWherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness,

وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ﴿٢٠﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd fruit that they prefer

وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ﴿٢١﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd flesh of fowls that they desire.

وَحُورٌ عِينٌ ﴿٢٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes,

كَأَمْثَـٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ ﴿٢٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallLike unto hidden pearls,

Now playing ·
جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallReward for what they used to do.

لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ﴿٢٥﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThere hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination

إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَـٰمًا سَلَـٰمًا ﴿٢٦﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall(Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace.

وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ ﴿٢٧﴾

فِى سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ ﴿٢٨﴾

وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ ﴿٣٠﴾

وَمَآءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ ﴿٣١﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd water gushing,

وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ﴿٣٢﴾

لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ ﴿٣٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallNeither out of reach nor yet forbidden,

وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ ﴿٣٤﴾

إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءً ﴿٣٥﴾

فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا ﴿٣٦﴾

عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا ﴿٣٧﴾
